Flooding from Wisconsin Storms

Heavy rainfall and the resultant flooding have plagued the Midwest this spring. Earlier this week I traveled to Kenosha County, Wisconsin where highways have been closed due to standing water and many a basement flooded.

Another point of impact is the corn crop. Corn prices soared to record highs on June 12 as concerns increase with the relentless barrage of rain that has caused widespread flooding across the corn belt. With prices at the grocery store already inching upwards, flooded fields such as the one pictured above could impact pocketbooks in the coming months.
